I have a brother machine of 50 's and I sew a lot with it. This machine has a Zig Zag setting so the needle must pass through the small round hole on the cover plate of the dog. I ran these machine needles Singer regular point universal and decided to try them. They seem to have more of a cone at the point making the plate hole bigger! bought this machine to use domestic sewing ... wanted a heavier machine as my old 620. singer bought a brother initially SQ. 9185. returned due to various problems ... and I wasn't sold on the fact that a 8 pound machine could hold up to any real sewing. I love the weight and power of this singer has ... This collection of legs is as good quality if not better than the few that came with my machine. I have an old machine Brother XL-5130 and these fit fit like they were made just for this. the only downside is there are no instructions on how to use those rare and since I am not a professional dressmaker or even that well prepared to use a sewing machine for a lot more than the standard straight stitch I needed direction, which was easily on Google and taught

I just bought this sewing machine about three weeks ago. I took it as a substitute for a Bernette I used for about thirty minutes of total that the repair man couldn't figure out how to fix. I'm working on my fashion certificate and needed one for. I chose this one partially because it was pink! This machine is easy to use-take-up reel, changing sutures, portability, two needles. customer service with this company is better than you! Recently we have had problems with the product that I purchased this for. Although still under warranty by manufacturer when the product died and the manufacturer does not answer the phone or returned my call these people took care of me. worth the extra cost of buying their protection. I was trying to sew vinyl covered fabric and the fabric was catching. a seller of Bernina recommended using Teflon foot. that solved my problem.
